Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Mr. Vesel Makolli, today participated in the workshop on “The role of the health sector in inclusive and sustainable development”, organized by World Health Organization, office in Pristina.
Deputy Minister Makolli during his speech said that MLSW, based on its responsibilities and in accordance with the human and personnel capacities, has acted to provide children in a state of social need to provide protection in accordance with the standards applied today in the countries developed.
Makolli emphasized that MLSW has prepared the legal infrastructure for the protection of children in need of social needs, has drafted bylaws for better implementation of laws for social services, and is completing minimum standards for the provision of social and family services in Kosovo.
The Deputy Minister said that the ministry will develop policies and prepare strategic plans for providing social and family services, ensure implementation of these policies and strategic plans, and coordinate work with relevant institutions and organizations.
According to him, it promotes the development and the coherent implementation of social welfare policies, community participation is encouraged and community initiatives and activities related to social welfare are realized.
