Kosovo and Turkey will cooperate in the field of social services and schemes

In the wake of his visit to Turkey, Minister of Labor and Social Welfare Mr. Skender Reçica accompanied by Kosovo Ambassador to Ankara Mr. Avni Spahiu met with Minister Mrs.  Fatma Bethel Saja Kaja, of Ministry of Family and Social Policy of the Republic of Turkey.

The topic of discussion was the exchange of experiences of both countries in the field of services and social schemes.
Minister Mr. Reçica was informed by Minister Mrs. Kaja about Turkey’s system of social services and schemes, which also showed who are beneficiaries of social assistance from these schemes. She stressed that Turkey is a social state and really cares for its citizens, but the criteria to benefit from these schemes are well defined by law and are overseen strictly.

Minister Reçica and Minister Kaja agreed to establish bridges of cooperation through working groups that would result in beneficial bilateral agreements.
The integrated data system of citizens applying for benefit from state-funded social schemes was found to be very important for the successful construction of the controlled operation of providing assistance to different social categories.

Both ministers agreed to continue co-operation in this area and this co-operation will be more intensive,  Minister Reçica invited Minister Kaja for an official visit to Kosovo.
