Today, a Government Commission has been established for recognizing and verifying the status of raped persons during the Kosovo Liberation War.
The functioning of this commission will also start the process of applying and verifying the status of victims of sexual violence and then their compensation. M
Minister of Labor and Welfare, Mr. Arban Abrashi, said that compensation would not provide the missing justice, “but will be a modest institutional support for this category of society.”
Mr. Abrashi added that this is an important date for these victims because after a long period their recognition and support is beginning to be so denyed so far.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare will also notify the public in time of the procedures and time of application for the affected persons of this category.
