MLSW and UNDP support citizens and businesses with the necessary equipment

The Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, today together with the UNDP Resident Representative in Kosovo, Mrs. Maria Suokko, have met some of the jobseekers, who have been provided with the necessary equipment to start working in their businesses, as beneficiaries of the Self-employment Program for repatriates that has been announced this year.

In this regard, Minister Mr. Reçica said that he is very happy that in this difficult time of dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic and the difficulties it has brought to the general well-being of citizens, we managed to support hundreds of citizens to become part of the labor market through their businesses.

We as the Minister of Labor and Social Welfare (MLSW), in cooperation with our partner, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Kosovo, this year through the first phase of the Self-Employment Program have supported 136 jobseekers in opening businesses a few days ago we announced the second phase of the self-employment program which will support many other jobseekers repatriated to Kosovo, said Minister Reçica.

Also, the Minister of MLSW, Mr. Skender Reçica, said that, in addition to the Self-Employment Program, we are supporting long-term employment of jobseekers through the Wage Subsidy Program, in cooperation with businesses, as an effort to help both jobseekers and businesses in place.
