The Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Skender Rećica has met today the labor inspectors, to support them on weekdays, in intensifying the performance of the duties, in inspecting and controlling the conditions and measures of safety and health at work, with particular emphasis on the construction sector.
Minister Reçica asked the Labor Inspectors to be persistent in the implementation of all safety and health measures at work, strictly implementing all the measures envisaged by the legislation in force that regulates this area.
“I asked them to be uncompromising and in cooperation with companies to increase the responsibility of employees and employers to raise awareness in applying and respecting all measures of protection and safety at work,” emphasis Minister.
Furthermore, Reçica emphasised that given the number of accidents, including fatalities, requested from the Labor Inspectorate to increase the number of inspections in construction sites throughout Kosova in the following days, especially in Prishtina and the cities where the construction sector is most present.
“I learned from the Inspectors that only in Pristina were conducted inspections in 244 construction companies. Also Labor Inspectorate requires greater cooperation from other implicated institutions as well as citizens, in order to raise awareness “, emphasis Minister Reçica.
