Prishtina, 25th of May, 2018
The Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), held a signing ceremony of agreements between the beneficiaries of active labor market programs, where 270 jobseekers will benefit.
On this occasion, Minister of MLSW, Skender Reçica, congratulated the young people who benefited from this  program, adding that youth employment is a major priority of MLSW.
“As MLSW, we are working in various directions and programs. One of the program points of the Government is the employment of a member of each family who does not have any employees and we are working hard in this direction in order to make this true. That’s why I am personally getting involved too. “
Moreover, he said that in addition to active labor market measures, MLSW is also heavily involved in reaching seasonal employment agreements with several EU countries, promising that we will soon have good news in this regard.
Reçica thanked private sector employers for the opportunity they have offered, through wage subsidies and internship program, where as beneficiaries are 270 people.
Minister Reçica thanked UNDP, promising that MLSW will also co-operate on other projects in the framework of  active labor market measures, stating that we will soon have an invitation for self-employment programs, which is a new opportunity for young people and women who through entrepreneurship will create new jobs for themselves and for others.
Meanwhile, UNDP Deputy Permanent Representative in Kosovo, Alessandra Roccasalvo, congratulated all beneficiaries of the program, saying that through this scheme, UNDP is aiming to achieve some employment targets.
“Firstly, we offer employment opportunities for young jobseekers who are having difficulties entering the labor market and making the right steps in their career, while the second objective is to provide business development opportunities by supporting the number increase of employees,  considering the difficulties that  private companies usually face in engaging adequate professional staff for business activities “.
Roccasalvo stated that within a few weeks, the World Youth Day will be celebrated, where many young people will have a good opportunity to develop their educational skills.
On this occasion, she thanked MLSW and Employment Agency for good cooperation and as a result of this partnership, 270 young people were selected this year in the wage subsidy scheme and internship programs.
