Minister Reçica’s reforms are supported by the World Bank

Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Skender Reçica hosted in a meeting of World Bank representatives led by Marco Mantovanelli, World Bank Manager for Republic of Kosova and Republic of Macedonia in the European Region and Asia, and his team.

Minister Reçica informed the representatives of the World Bank about the current MLSW engagements and about the progress of the pension system reform in the Republic of Kosova, where it is planning a radical legal reform and the services provided.

“We are very committed to having the Concept Paper on Pension Reform by the end of the year, which, besides the foreseen drafting of the new pension law, will also include service reform,” said Reçica.

Also, the minister showed about the efforts being made by MLSW for respecting the rights of employees where he said that MLSW has sent for approval to the Government the Concept Document of the new Labor Law which will regulate a range of issues regarding workers’ rights .

In this context, the minister said that special attention will be paid to mothers who are deprived of their rights and are expected to be treated with a special law and for the first time is foreseen parental leave.

The Minister received confirmation from the World Bank representatives for continued support for reforms and initiatives undertaken as well as for joint coordination on issues for which MLSW needs assistance.
