Today, the Minister of Labour and Social Welfare, Arban Abrashi, together with the Kosovo Apparel Marketing Association (KAMA) visited some of the Kosovo’s textile manufacturing companies of the country. Minister visited the “Artatex” company in Peja, which managed to triple the number of the workers within a year, as well as expand it in other locations.
Whereas in Gjakove, Minister Abrashi visited the “Interex Kosova” company, which has its manufacturing lines for car covers for world class companies such as “Volkswagen”, has working clothes for electricians and leather begs for European companies of higher standards.
Abrashi concluded his visits with the “Creative” textile company, which has nearly 70 workers and today has headed his first export to EU.
After listening to the demands and needs of these companies, Minister Abrashi emphasized that the textile industry has tremendous potential for its growth and that in the upcoming years it is expected to employ several thousand job seekers.
The support of MLSW for this industry with continue to be done through active measures, such as the wage subsidies, internships and work trainings. During May, MLSW will launch the invitation for these measures which aim to benefit nearly 1000 job seekers.
