Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Çerkin Dukolli, attended today the Conference “Towards a stronger local health system to support the child’s welfare and development”.
This project is a joint organization of the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and the Office of UNICEF in Kosovo.
Deputy Minister Dukolli said that this project is of a great importance. Therefore, he expressed the willingness of MLSW to contribute to the well-being of all citizens of Kosovo, especially children.
Dukolli announced that MLSW has prepared the legal infrastructure for supporting families and persons with social needs, and that the minimum standards for providing social and family services in Kosovo have been completed.
Here he also talked about the importance of the visits of health care personnel in homes, as a step that above all helps in identifying abused and neglected children or those at risk of being abandoned by parents or their guardians.
The visit program is currently being implemented in nine municipalities, such as Prizren, Ferizaj, Gjilan, Gjakova, Mitrovica, Dragash, Fushe Kosove, Obiliq and Lipjan. In addition, Deputy Minister Dukolli said that MLSW will cooperate with health services by providing data of all those families who need such services.
