Minister of Labor and Social Welfare Mr. Skender Reçica, at the invitation of the EU Presidency and the European Commission, is participating in the EU Ministerial Conference of Western Balkan Countries in Luxembourg, which is being organized by the EU Presidency, the current Romanian language of Finland and Croatia, together with the European Commission’s Directorate General for Employment and Social Affairs.
Minister Mr. Reçica at this conference presented the challenges that Kosovo faces, such as high unemployment, inconsistency of the professional skills of the labor force with labor market needs, low economic development, and scarce foreign investment.
“The Government of Kosovo is committed to advancing the necessary reforms in order to create more jobs, to foster foreign investment, to have better coordination between the institutions of the country for education and vocational training, for the creation of professional cadres with the required skills and skills, “said the minister.
Mr. Reçica added that the Youth Employment Plan and MLSW Sector Strategy are two strategic documents of the Government of Kosovo, which clearly address these challenges, such as increasing employability, reducing inactivity and vocational education and training, are objectives and priorities that are set to be achieved with these documents.
From the Presidency, this conference was considered historic, because for the first time such a conference is organized at a higher political level, at the ministerial level, and this is what the conference attaches importance, because employment and social issues call for decision-making and commitment by more actors senior government.
Western Balkan countries aspire to integrate into the European Union, so needed reforms and efforts are needed to achieve this goal, create employment conditions for the country and at the same time join the EU.
