The vocational training agreement for young people with down syndrome is signed

The Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare and the “Down Syndrome Kosova” Association signed today a cooperation agreement for the vocational training of young people with Down syndrome, in the framework of the implementation of the project “Promoting Down Syndrome Skills for Persons with Disabilities in Kosovo”.

The agreement was signed by the Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Mr. Skender Reçica and Executive Director of the “Down Syndrome Kosova” Association, Mrs. Sebahate Beqiri. Minister Reçica said that MLSW is consistently committed to providing opportunities for employment and vocational training for all categories of people with disabilities.

Director Beqiri expressed his gratitude for the support that MLSW is giving to the youth of the association in order to have access to vocational training, stressing that vocational training of young people with down syndrome is very important.

Based on the agreement signed between MLSW and Down Syndrome Kosova, 56 young people with Down syndrome will have the opportunity to attend 3-month training in Vocational Training, Vocational Training Centers in Ferizaj, Gjilan, Gjakova and Peja.
