Minister of Labour and Social Welfare Mr. Nenad Rasic along with leading structures of the municipality of Gracanica, officially inaugurated in community -based home for the elderly without family in the municipality of Gracanica. Minister Rasic said WLSW aims is to extend community services for these categories and gradually reduce the large number of customers piled in two basic institutions.
” Based on this aim from the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare have managed to build this house in the municipality of Gracanica, which cost about 300 thousand €, which will initially offer 24 hour services to 10 client of community Serb ” who were transferred from the Home for elderly Persons in Gracanica ” – said the Minister Rasic.
The capacity of this house is 10 beds and the house also possesses the entire necessary accompanying infrastructure offering quality service 24 hours for these clients. While the rest of the capacity will be completed by the CSW in Gracanica, by selecting the elderly in social condition and in need and without care, which do not have biological children.
This protection for this category at the national level is currently being offered in two basic institutions ( Home for the elderly in Pristine and Special Institute in addition) and nine community-based homes, which are located two in Shtime, Ferizaj, Decan, Kamenica, Gracanica, SM, Skenderaj and Gurakoc – Istog.
In the end the Minister Rasic said the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare in the future will build houses like this in other municipalities, so that services to clients in the state of social need to take services closer to their relatives.
