MLSW increases the support for employment of people with disabilities and their employers

The Kosovo Government has today given the green light to the legal initiative of the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (MLSW), which aims to create facilities in terms of the employability of persons with disabilities, such as for this sector, as well as for employers Theirs.

At the Government meeting, the Draft Tax and Customs Facilitation Regulation for Employers Employing Persons with Disabilities and Persons with Disabilities Exercising an Independent Activity was approved, which was submitted by MLSW Minister Mr. Skender Rećica.

Prior to the drafting of this Draft-Regulation, there was no legal act that regulates this issue.

Minister Mr. Reçica said that people with disabilities deserve equal treatment in the field of employment and therefore through the creation of a legal basis, we are trying to create as many facilities for this category and employers at the same time.

“With the adoption of the Law on amending and supplementing the Law on vocational training, recruitment and employment of persons with disabilities, the legal basis for regulating and determining the customs and tax facilities of employers employing persons with disabilities and persons with disabilities who exercise independent activity, “said Reçica.

Based on the Draft-Regulation approved today in the Government, the employer who employs persons with disabilities as well as a person with disabilities exercising an independent activity are entitled to the customs and tax reliefs which they realize under the legislation in force and specific tax facilities that imply that all employers employing persons with disabilities are exempt from personal income tax according to the applicable personal income tax legislation.
