MLSW and UNDP launched Program for the Wage Subsidy

Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, in collaboration with the Program for United Nations Development Program (UNDP) have launched the Program for the Wage Subsidy (PWS), which will create employment opportunities for jobseekers in Kosova by subsidy employers who are willing to hire them on a long term basis.

To take advantage from the PWS, the employer must sign an employment contract with the employee 12 months, in accordance with applicable labor laws. The employer will receive a subsidy of 50% of the salary of employees. The amount of this subsidy can not be higher than the minimum month wage in Kosova. Employment offices will support companies in identifying the best candidates registered as job seekers, according to the specific needs of employers.

In addition to supporting local companies by subsidizing employment, PWS helps the whole process of recruitment for new vacancies. Considering the difficulties encountered by private companies at finding and engaging the necessary qualified staff to expand their business activities, the PWS will use the expertise of the employment offices to suit every job vacancy with the proper job seekers, in accordance with criteria set by the companies.

We invite interested companies to the private sector and job seekers to apply to participate in this program which at the same time will serve asa unique opportunity to support the gradual increase enterprises of Kosova.
