Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Mr. Skender Reçica, waited today in a meeting Mrs. Emily Kenney, policy analyst at the Transition Justice, Peace and Security Sector, UN Women International Organization, and other representatives of this organization.
At this meeting, Minister Mr. Reçica informed Mrs. Kenney for the actions that the MLSW is undertaking regarding the category of the vulnerable group, namely the women. He announced that Sector Strategy of the MLSW, which will be adopted by the Government until the end of the year, women will have a special treatment as participants in active labor market measures, as well as in employment mediation .
Minister Mr. Reçica informed the attendees about the decision to compensate the victims of sexual violence of war, the establishment of the Commission for the Verification of the Status of Victims of Sexual Violence, and the establishment of the Secretariat for Commission Assistance.
The Minister Mr. Recica stressed that today the government’s agenda for adoption of decisions on this category, which requires a treatment not only of material compensation from the state, but also an additional engagement in various projects.
Mrs. Kenney thanked the minister for the meeting and congratulated him on the work he is doing on the victims of sexual violence of the war, saying that this category requires a special treatment and that the minister’s concrete engagement in this regard is to be evaluated .
Minister Mr. Reçica presented the readiness of MLSW for cooperation with the “UN Women” organization on joint projects and other forms of cooperation with the aim of raising the social welfare of this category.
