Minister Reçica is hosted in Bulgaria by his counterpart Petkov

During the official visit to Bulgaria, the Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Mr. Skender Reçica, accompanied by the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosova to Sofia, Shpend Kallaba was hosted today by Bulgarian counterpart, Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Mr. Biser Petkov.

Minister Reçica thanked Minister Petkov for the support of the Bulgarian state to the Republic of Kosova, saying that Bulgaria is one of the countries that has already recognized Kosova and has consistently supported in terms of development and the integration process.

Reçica informed Petkov about the process of European integration of Kosova, where he stressed that the Republic of Kosova has already drafted an Action Plan for the implementation of the obligations arising from the Stabilization and Association Agreement.

“Within this plan, MLSW has several obligations related to Labor and Employment and Social Welfare. One of these obligations is the drafting of a Sector Strategy along with the Action Plan and the drafting of the Action Plan for Youth Employment, documents that have already been approved by the Government. Within the framework of the Sector Strategy, a series of reforms are envisaged, starting from the reform of the Labor Law, pension reform, social scheme and disability reform, the Law on Economic and Social Council (Social Dialogue), emphasized the Minister Reçica.

For his part, Minister Petkov informed Minister Reçica about the domain of his ministry and the difficulties Bulgaria has experienced over labor relations and social policies. He stressed that one of the main objectives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy was to improve the quality and safety of work through the protection of the social rights of persons and also showed that they are working on improving social security legislation.

The two ministers agreed to deepen cooperation in this area because it is one of the most important areas for the benefit of the citizens of both countries, but also in other areas for the purpose of exchanging experiences. On this occasion, Minister Reçica invited Minister Petkov for a bilateral meeting in the Republic of Kosova.
