The Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Mr. Skender Reçica, today participated in the presentation of the UN Framework for Sustainable Development Cooperation 2021-2025, where MLSW is committed to addressing the challenges and problems arising from two of the 17 objectives as are totally part of this Framework.
Regarding the first objective “Elimination of poverty in all forms everywhere”, Minister Mr. Reçica said that our department in cooperation with other international partners will be committed to support vulnerable groups, families in difficult social situation, etc. “Specifically, we have already approved in the government the concept document that paves the way for the drafting of a new law on the social assistance scheme, in order to increase the number of beneficiaries of this scheme and at the same time reduce poverty,” he said. it.
While, regarding the fifth objective, “Achieving gender equality and empowerment of all women and girls”, Minister Mr. Reçica stressed that, MLSW is committed to adopt as soon as possible two very important and necessary laws; The new Labor Law and the Law on Maternity and Parental Leave.
In order to implement the objectives arising from this Framework and in order to implement the targeted indicators, Minister Mr. Reçica underlined that we should have a more concrete cooperation between the central and local level, including a close cooperation with the Assembly of Kosovo.
