Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Mr.Arban Abrashi accompanied by Minister of Health Mr.Imet Rrahmani, has visited today the HANDIKOS association, on the occasion of donation 450 assistive devices for mobility, such as wheelchairs, crutches and other parts that serve for repairing these devices.
During his speech, Minister Abrashi mentioned the efforts for the approval of Law on Paraplegics and Quadriplegics in the Assembly of Kosovo and he also gave some information about procedures of Law on rehabilitation and employment of people with disabilities that will significantly affect the improvement of welfare and create a better position for these people. Minister Abrashi thanked the representatives from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from the United States of America, who under many humanitarian services have brought today over 450 different devices which are being shared.
Meanwhile, the Director of HANDIKOS, Mr.Afrim Maliqi has thanked the Government of Kosovo, especially Minister Abrashi for the excellent cooperation until now with a commitment and support for people with disabilities and especially for advancing their position and rights by creating laws and politics that affect families of these people. Furthermore, Mr.Maliqi said that very soon a mini-factory which will be producing wheelchairs will be opened, and in order to make this able, he said that he needs financial aid from departments of the two present Ministers.
