Minister Reçica: The voice of Vasfije broke the silence that followed us for many years

Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Skender Reçica hosted today in a meeting  Mrs. Vasfije Krasniqi-Goodman, victim of sexual violence during the last war in Republic of Kosova and director of the Kosovar Rehabilitation Center for Torture Victims, Mrs. Feride Rushiti.

Minister Reçica congratulated Mrs.Krasniqi-Goodman for the courage and willingness to confess her event, becoming the voice that broke the silence that followed us for many years.

“Your voice is the voice of all our sisters and mothers who have for the centuries silenced their calamity,” emphasised Minister Reçica.

The Minister said that in the framework of institutional efforts, the Government has established a commission for recognizing and verifying the status of raped persons.

“That’s a bit of what we can do and we are aware that it is not enough. It’s need our citizens courage and moral to not silence, to raise our voice, to speak the truth aloud, “emphsised  Minister Reçica.

During the meeting, symbolically Minister Reçica and the head of the government commission for verification and recognition of the status of raped during the war in the Republic of Kosova, Mrs. Minire Begaj, gave the decidion on the status recognition  to the Mrs. Krasniqi-Goodman.
