Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Welfare Mr. Safet Kamberi, as panel members took part in the launch of special importance to the project “Secure Network for the Protection of children-Phase III”, whose implementation is making Terre des Hommes – “Help for children around world “in constant partnership with OPM (Office for Good Governance), the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, University of Prishtina and KOMF Organization (Coalition for Child Protection Organizations).
Deputy / Minister of MLSW Mr. Safet Kamberi greeted the launch of this project and informed the participants that the Ministry has undertaken legislative initiative to draft a special law on children’s rights protection, which according mr. Kamberi is slightly delayed by the relevant legislation. He said that this law is worked almost until the final stages. “The good thing about this law is that it would clearly defines the responsibilities of each institution and will create additional mechanisms to protect children at central and local level, where after the adoption of this law will come bylaws will be harmonized with International Convention on Human Rights, “said among other things Deputy / Minister Mr. Kamberi.
The project in question as the main focus will be assistance in the implementation of the new law on child protection, to develop secondary legislation, to provide the necessary technical expertise to develop new specialized services and to build infrastructure monitoring and accountability mechanisms. Through implementation of this project will be activities such as summer camps, micro initiatives, and support for civil society organizations are.
Project figures that were released today show that total is expected that 6080 children are direct beneficiaries and it includes the following categories: children with high and medium risk, children in street situations, children – victims of sexual abuse, children supported by direct assistance to children who participate in micro initiatives, organized in any of the communities. And regarding professional beneficiaries are expected to be 603 direct beneficiaries with profiles from different areas such as social workers, social service leaders in social work centers, employees to protect children, members of the health profile, education, police, NGOs, partner ministry officials, local staff etc.
This project is funded by the Foundation “Medicor” and there is a period of development along three (3) years, from January 2017 – December 2019 covering all municipalities.
