Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Welfare has visited some private sector companies in Ferizaj today. As Chairman of the National Council for Safety and Health at Work, he was closely acquainted today with the safety and working conditions these companies offer to workers.
Mr. Dukolli accompanied by the members of the Council visited the construction company ‘Vahidi’, which has 17 employees, as well as the Kosovo Model Wood Factory, with owner Mr. Milaim Sopaj, which has about 37 employees.
During the on-site visit of these companies, the NCSHW was interested in safety conditions, work equipment and the implementation of preventive measures to avoid injuries at work. On this occasion Deputy Minister Mr. Dukolli appealed to employers to increase security measures, not only for the sake of laws and regulations, but more to the fact that people’s lives are more expensive and more precious than any other material benefit.
He also received promises from company owners that they will strictly enforce the laws, advice, and guidelines that benefit the health and workers’ lives protection.
The National Council for Safety and Health at Work will continue to visit and monitor companies and other industries to closely monitor the implementation of legislation on safety and health at work not only to affirm the necessity of health protection workers, but also to exchange ideas and experiences with different companies in order to maximize work safety.
