Deputy Minister Dukolli attended the public hearing on the Law of the Labour Inspectorate

Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Welfare, Çerkin Dukolli, attended the round table organized by KDI for the draft law of the Labour Inspectorate. On this occasion today was presented parliamentary research prepared by the Committee for Health, Labour and Social Welfare from the Assembly of the Republic of Kosova.
At this roundtable were attended deputy’s by Assemby of the Republic of Kosova, MLSW, Trade Unions, numerous members of civil society and media.
Deputy Minister Dukolli thanked the working group of MLSW, the Chairperson of the Functional Committee of the Assembly, Mrs. Besa Baftiu, the deputy Bekim Haxhiu, the unions, and the civil society for the contribution given in the drafting of this document. “We as the MLSW consider that such a document fulfils all the expectations for the issues that this bill reads in its entirety. However, we are here to debate and consider all the comments and contributions that may come, so that this law can achieve the goal for the field that regulates’’.
Deputy Minister Dukolli emphasized that the purpose of drafting this draft law is to reform the work of the Labour Inspectorate according to the ILO’s international standards and the best practices of European Union countries.
“Through this draft law, we aim to empower and reform the Labour Inspectorate, whose main mandate is overseeing the implementation of legislation and other acts that regulate the field of employment, occupational and health safety .
Mr. Dukolli underlined that even after the research presented today at this round table by Mr. Visar Rushiti, it is clear that this bill sponsored by MLSW is almost in full compliance with the experiences of European countries.
It is worth mentioning that Mr. Rushiti had for reference the organization of the Labour Inspectorate in seven European countries such as Slovenia, Austria, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Denmark.
Further Mr. Dukolli emphasized that they will work closely with the functional parliamentary commission even at this stage where the bill is located, so that in the end we will have a law that will be functional and applicable to all issues that it treats.
