Under the direction of the Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Arban Abrashi, was held the first informal and notifying meeting with the Commission on the Recognition and Verification of the Status of Persons Forced During the Kosovo Liberation War.
After 18 years of denial and ignorance, this commission was finally established which will review the applications of raped persons to offer a reparation which, even though justice will not be put in place, will be a recognition And acceptance of this category of our citizens, emphasized Abrashi. In this regard, Minister Abrashi asked members of the Commission and NGOs engaged to work on identifying budget orientation lines and come up with a recommendation for it regarding the amount of compensation for all raped persons during war.
The Government Commission for Recognition and Verification of the Status of Violent Persons during the Kosovo Liberation War was established by a decision of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo in its meeting held on 28 April 2017. In addition to the members of the commission, there were present NGOs Certified by MLSW, which will assist the persons violated in their application process. The Commission agreed to come up with a set of recommendations for MLSW and Minister Abrashi, in addition to the amount of compensation for violated persons, in order to complete all legal and institutional obligations to prevent this process from being constrained by institutional elections or vacuum.
