Tirana, on 2 September, 2020
On the eve of the next meeting of the two governments, that of Kosovo and Albania, today, together with our ambassador to Albania, Mr. Nait Hasani, Minister of MLSW, Mr. Skender Reçica, met with the Minister of Finance and Economy of the Republic of Albania, Mrs. Anila Denaj, to further intensify the necessary actions in the journey started long ago, to facilitate the lives of our citizens.
Minister Recica and Minister Denaj agreed to reach an agreement on mobility at work, an agreement which enables the citizens of our countries to have equal opportunities for employment, education and vocational training, throughout our geographical area, regardless of where they come from. In this sense, we are bringing even closer Vlora with Podujeva, Shkodra with Peja and also, Gjilan in Elbasan to feel Elbasan, said Minister Mr. Recica.
The staff of both countries with the achievement of this agreement will use the common labor market, which will be integrated into only one labor market. The importance of its integration is that our two countries fill the vacancies, which require staff based on market needs. This agreement will enable the filling of this gap by offering the workforce with professional training according to the needs of the labor market of both our countries.
Also, with Minister Denaj, it was agreed that after reaching this agreement, we must implement the agreement on social security, so that our citizens do not lose their contributions and join the periods of contributions from each country that have worked. So, our citizens will benefit from social security by choosing to live where they want, in Kosovo or in Albania.
With the achievement of these two agreements, Kosovo and Albania will be closer to the European Union, due to the fact that they are living part of the Berlin process, but above all with these agreements we will be closer to each other.
