The Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (MLSW), the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) signed today a cooperation agreement in the field of economic reintegration of repatriated persons in the labor market.
The agreement in question was signed by Minister of MLSW, Skender Rećica, Minister of MIA, Bejtush Gashi and UNDP Kosovo Permanent Representative, Ulrika Richardson.

This agreement will support repatriated persons by providing opportunities for training, employment and creation of new businesses and provision of consultancy services within the Active Program of the Market.

The agreement was preceded by an inter-ministerial agreement signed in May this year between MLSW and MIA on the transfer of competencies in the field of economic reintegration from the Ministry of the Internal Affairs to MLSW.

This project will be implemented by MLSW in cooperation with UNDP during the period 2019-2021 and according to the agreement, more than 1,250 repatriated persons are expected to benefit from training, employment and new business opportunities.

The purpose of this project is the sustainable economic reintegration of repatriated families, as one of the criteria for visa liberalization and Euro-Atlantic integration, through the provision of training, employment and opening of new businesses through active labor market programs for repatriated persons, in accordance with the reintegration policies of repatriated persons in the labor market and relevant legislation in force.
