MLSW and the Municipality of Prizren construct a residential center for people with disabilities

The Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (MLSW), within its policy to improve the welfare of all categories of society, particularly those with disabilities, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding on co-financing for the construction of a community home for persons with disabilities. This project has been supported by MLSW in the amount of 150.000 Euros and the Municipality of Prizren in the amount of 50.000 Euros.
MLSW Minister Skender Reçica said that MLSW in the framework of the Mandate that has and according to the Sector Strategy 2018-2022 has foreseen to create conditions for persons with disabilities in particular.
“Taking into account the needs of persons with disabilities in the Municipality of Prizren, we today signed a memorandum of understanding for co-financing for the construction of a residential center for them. With the construction of this center will be created opportunities for providing 24 hour residential care services on the basis of standards of social and family services “, said Minister Reçica.
Meanwhile, the mayor of Prizren, Mytaher Haskuka, thanked the Minister for co-operation in this important project aimed at improving the well-being of the category of people with disabilities requesting such cooperation to continue in the future.
In the residential center to be built it is foreseen to receive services for about 14-15 people with disabilities for whom housing, care, food and other social services will be provided.
