MLSW together with UNDP opened the “Fair of Self-Employment 2019”

The Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare (MLSW), in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), opened today the “Fair of Self-Employment 2019”, which will last until 8 July 2019. In the fair is attending over 80 new businesses, established through the Self-Employment Program which is presenting their products and services.

The Minister of Labour and Social Welfare, Mr. Skender Reçica, was pleased with the joint success of MLSW and UNDP in support of jobseekers in Republic of Kosova in active labour market measures that have returned to long-term jobs stable.

“We, as MLSW, will not stop supporting our citizens in order to increase employability in the country and one of our priorities, as we have emphasized in the youth employment plan, is to increase employability, to improve labour market, professionalize young people according to the needs of the labour market and at the same time support them through active labour market measures, “emphasised Minister Reçica.

Permanent Representative of the UNDP in the Republic of Kosova Mrs. Valbona Bogujevci, assisted by the UNDP Representative, said the self-employment program is part of the program for active labour market measures funded by MLSW, which aims to promote self-employment as a measure that has been shown stable.

“It aims to assist young people to establish their own small businesses in the most successful and sustainable way, and the program also helps the beneficiaries of the program consistently through counselling throughout the process,” emphasised Mrs. Bogujevci.

During the fair, Minister Reçica and Mrs. Bogujeci also launched the new phase of the Self-Employment Program, through which 200 repatriated job seekers across Republic of Kosova and 50 regular jobseekers will be supported in the Prishtinë and Mitrovica areas.
