Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Mr. Skender Reçica received today at a meeting of representatives of the German Development Bank (KfW) with whom they discussed about the project ‘VET Challenge Fund’, which aims to help Kosovo, especially in the field of employment and vocational training.
Minister Mr. Reçica said he feels happy that Kosovo is part of this important project and expressed appreciation for the German Government that is constantly assisting Kosovo in such projects, especially for job growth. He said vocational training, especially young people, is the key to mitigating unemployment. Also, labor market needs research and career orientations are a necessity, for which the ministry sought support from the German government, in this case by KfW.
The Minister stressed that MLSW, together with its partners, with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST) and other local and international partners are working to increase the level of education and vocational training in Kosovo, so that professional profiles of professional education to be in line with labor market needs, hence increase employment.
Mrs. Hille Heneby, manager of VET projects at KfW, said the project aims to help Kosovo in the areas mentioned by Minister Reçica, for which she sought deepening of cooperation in the next steps.
Mr. Reçica and the Mrs. Heneby was agreed to further coordinate the actions around the project.
