The Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Welfare Mr. Safet Kamberi, attended the launching ceremony of the project “Integrated Territorial Development” (InTerDev) 2, funded by the Austrian Development Cooperation and implemented by UNDP. Presented at the launch were Andrew Russell- Permanent Representative, UNDP, Gernot Pfandler- Ambassador, Austrian Embassy if Pristina, MAFRD, Rodoljub Mladenovic, as well as Mayors of the three Municipalities Strpce, Dragash and Vitia who signed a memorandum of understanding. This project was launched in the second phase project called ADA and interest empower small farmers.
Deputy Minister Mr. Kamberi noted that “All of us with these kinds of projects are helping self-employment. The Ministry together with partners has been successful as an active move to open new jobs and support business at the same time. ”
The Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare is finalizing the conclusion of sectoral strategy 2017-2021 where employment and vocational training are a priority of this strategy, which provides activities and results to be achieved during implementation. “To implement this strategy, we also need the support of our partners and donors involved in the field of employment and social welfare of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo,” said Mr. Kamberi.
Following the launch of the project Deputy minister Mr. Kamberi said that simple, “We are aware that the challenges in the labor market are great addition to insufficient demand for work in the labor market problem is also the skill level of the workforce and the inconsistency of these skills with market demands. Our ministry will be an active partner of this initiative and other similar in order to increase economic empowerment”.
