The Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Skender Reçica, today on the occasion of marking the International Day Against Child Labor, held a regular annual meeting of the Kosovo Committee for the Prevention and Elimination of Serious Child Labor.
On this occasion, Minister Reçica spoke about the commitment and efforts made in the last term in order to protect children from hard work, although to achieve our goals, he said, we still have a lot of work to do now and further.
MLSW is expected to issue bylaws soon, which are also provided by the Law on Child Protection, a law passed in the last term, in which case there will be more clarity in the legal aspect for dealing with this harmful phenomenon for children, said the Minister Reçica.
Minister Mr. Reçica also emphasized that our commitment to have as few cases of involvement of children engaged in hard work as possible, means commitment for healthy, well-developed and well-educated children.
At the end of this meeting, the Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Mr. Skender Reçica, expressed his and the ministry’s readiness to cooperate with municipalities, NGOs and all line institutions that are involved in this process, which to push forward initiatives aimed at reducing the number of children present on the streets, by addressing this phenomenon based on institutional competencies, but also through various awareness campaigns for parents and their families.
