Minister of Labour and Social Welfare, Mr. Arban Abrashi, today inaugurated the completion of works on the project “The Siege of the cemetery” in the village of Dubrava, Ferizaj. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the European Office, Mr. Christof Stock, and Mayor of Ferizaj, Mr. Muharrem Sfarqa.
In his remarks, Minister Mr. Abrashi said that this project is related to the name of the EU project “Beautiful Kosovo”, and now is realize, is entirely a function of community.
He said that the excellent cooperation between the EU, MLSW and the Municipality of Ferizaj, will be a model for other municipalities how to make good works. Mr. Abrashi thanked the EU Office and Mr. Stock for the good cooperation on this project. Mr. Abrashi added that this project that completed timely and successfully resulted in hiring 97 young people, where 69 of them have been registered as jobseekers in the Ministry of Labour, while the contingent of employees were also people with disabilities limited. He pledged that the Ministry will support projects in other communities in the future.
The representative of EU Mr. Christoph Stock in inaguration of the project said that the best part of this project is youth employment. He has welcomed the implementation of the project partners, noting that part of it is financed by the Municipality of Ferizaj, while the selection of employees was made in cooperation with MLSW. Mr. Stock enjoined the beneficiaries of this project, to care for the maintenance of these spaces, which henceforth will be for the community service.
Mayor of Ferizaj, Mr. Muharrem Sfarqa said that despite budget difficulties, the municipality has made it possible not to be overlooked communities. He promised that in 2017, the municipal budget will also consider projects for RAE communities.
The total amount of the project has cost 74 889 euros, including the contribution of the Municipality of Ferizaj with 25 thousand euro.
