Today, The Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Welfare, Safet Kamberi, visited the Association of Deaf in Mitrovica.
The Deputy Minister Safet Kamberi has stated that based on the the responsibilities that MLSW has, he will try to stay close to vulnerable people of this category in support of their requests.
He also emphasized that deaf people are a natural and integral part of society, therefore the institutions of the Republic of Kosova are putting so much effort to create conditions, guarantee, and other opportunities through different ways for appropriate trainings for this category, without descriminating them.
The Government of Kosovo, respectively Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, has compiled the Sectoral Strategy 2015-2020 and dhe Concept Document for regulating the scope of rights to benefits and servises for people with disabilities, especially for deaf people.
Other than that, the scope of this Legislation does not cover the deaf communitty. The Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Welfare, Mr.Kamberi has added that the new legal initiatives for the compilation of special Laws for each category of people with disability will be treated within a Law with the rights to services and benefits according to their categorization.
The Legal Framework of this Concept Document aims to empower these people in order for them to enjoy their full rights and fully benefit by participating in society and in the country economy.
The Deputy Minister Kamberi has also emphasized that the institutions of our contry have promptly implemented the policy of equal opportunities, by directly impacting the improvement of the life quality of deaf people.
During this meeting, the members of this association have required for support in the future and also gave a gratitude letter to Mr.Kamberi for his support and contrubution given to this organisation.
