65 thousand euros are allocated for shelters of victims of trafficking, family violence and protection of children

Prishtina, 12th of January 2018
A Proposal-Decision on allocation of funds by the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare has been approved in the Government of Kosovo for the support of several NGOs providing services for housing victims of family violence, protection of children and victims of trafficking.
The Proposal-Decision is presented by Minister of MLSW Skender Reçica at today’s Government meeting, who stated that due to the lack of financial support from donors and municipal budget, MLSW has provided the financial support of 50% of the costs to these NGOs, providing these services from January 1st to December 31st of 2017.
Considering that most of these Shelters-NGOs did not provide sufficient funds to continue their activities and cover the costs of providing these services during January and February of 2018, it is necessary to divide them financial means in order to continue providing services for these two months, whereas from March 2018, all shelters – NGOs and other NGOs will apply for public announcements, based on the Regulation of MoF-No-04/2017 on criteria , standards and public funding procedures of NGOs,” said Reçica.
The Minister announced that funds in the amount of 65,000.00 euros were allocated for shelters, in order to provide them with support in covering the costs for vulnerable customers during January and February.
