Minister of Labour and Social Welfare Mr. Arban Abrashi signed today a Memorandum of Understanding for the implementation of the Program for Subsidy of Wage with mutual funds, where he said that the project has to do with the active measures of the labor market, this is one of the measures where the ministry intends to implement in cooperation with the UNDP, which together have made pooling of funds, where the fund is in the amount of 500 thousand euro’s, which we function of the decrease in unemployment, will start subsidizing of wages for job seekers emerging companies. This project has to do with the fields and sectors related to the processing of wood, metal, agriculture, food packet, its and other areas. Minister Mr. Abrashi also pointed out that the fund will start subsidizing at least 600 persons in Kosovo in the period of 6 months. While the deputy of representative of the permanent to the UNDP in Kosovo Ms. Alessandra Roccasalvo said respective program with which we have worked with MLSW, has nearly 10 years that is being to implemented, and employs more than 13 thousand people.
This agreement that was signed today is very important because many people will be trained and is easier for them in the future to find vacancies. Through this program we seek to achieve two objectives, hiring long-term unemployed and support private businesses to work in the growth of their business in order to increase the number of employees. In the end Minister Mr. Abrashi expressed satisfaction with the cooperation provided by UNDP and was pleased by this readiness, which is pushed forward many new ideas which will always be in the interest of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.
