Makolli: RAE communities in Kosovo enjoy equal rights, just like all citizens of the Republic

Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Mr. Vesel Makolli, attended a conference organized by the Roma Education Fund and supported by the European Union Office in Pristina. The works of this conference addressed the integration, education and employment of RAE communities in Kosovo society, with the topic ‘Challenges and Opportunities for Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian Children and Young People in Kosovo’.

Deputy Minister Mr. Makolli told the audience that the communities in any liberal democratic society are the wealth of that country. “In particular, it applies to us Kosovars who have proven the oppression of oppression and discrimination, and we do not want this to anyone. So in this regard we have done our best to make all communities feel right to feel equal in every aspect and in every area. These rights and full equality for all citizens of Kosovo regardless of religion, nationality, race, gender are foreseen by the Constitution of our Republic, as well as with other legal and legal acts, “he said.

Mr. Makolli added that MLSW always considers the interests of minority communities, especially RAE. “Our ministry operates vocational training centers where all minority communities are involved”. It has invited young people from RAE communities who use the opportunity to attend vocational training centers and attend vocational training courses tailored to the needs of the labor market. Mr. Makolli emphasized that the members of this community have equal rights in all aspects, in particular in the field of employment and education.

He informed the attendees that within these measures MLSW is implementing the program of building about 100 houses for the RAE community, a program that will be implemented this year. “In the future at the same time we will engage in the planning and implementation of many projects related to assisting the RAE community, integration into society, qualification for the labor market and full equality,” said Deputy Minister Mr. Vesel Makolli.
