The Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, with the technical support of UNDP, announces that the salary Subsidy Program starts today, on  March 16th, 2018. This program will provide one year employment to 120 unemployed people who are registered for a long time in the Employment Office in all Kosovo Municipalities. On this occasion, we invite private sector companies to apply for employment in the respective municipalities to benefit from a 50% monthly salary subsidy for any unemployed person, to employe people for a period of one year. 

The Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare and the German organization, Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB), signed a Memorandum of Cooperation for the implementation of the project "Socio-economic Stability of Ethnic Minorities and Majority Communities" program in the Republic of Kosova. The project will be implemented by NGO, 'Preda Plus' in the Repulic of  Kosova. The Memorandum was signed by MLSW Minister Skender Reçica, head of the ASB office in Kosova, Dafina Hoxha and the director of the office of 'Preda Plus' in Kosova, Fatos Raifi.

Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Welfare Mr. Vesel Makolli took part in a conference organized by the Advocacy Training and Resource Center and in partnership with USAID on the topic "Implementing Institutional Obligations in Improving Rights of Marginalized Groups".

In his case, Deputy Minister Mr. Makolli said that the Republic of Kosovo, while respecting international principles, has guaranteed the rights and freedoms of the citizen, by law, also development policies, building and advancing the welfare of all citizens of its own, respecting legal norms and principles.

The National Council for Health and Safety at Work, chaired by the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Qerkin Dukolli, with the accomplices visited today in   Obiliq the Institute of Labour Medicine and the National Center of Medical Medicine in Gjakova.

In this visit of a cognitive character, Deputy Minister Dukolli was received by the Director of the Institute in Obiliq, Dr. Rexhep Kaqurri and Dr. Luan Nagavci, director of the National Center of Labour Medicine in Gjakova.

Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Skender Reçica, during today's session in the Assembly of Kosovo said that his engagement and MLSW is to be closer to the citizens, the commitment that is already being witnessed. These comments were made by the Minister during today's interpellation in the Kosovo Assembly, where he reasoned before the MPs the Government's decision to increase 20% of the monthly payment for families in the Social Assistance Scheme.

Today, at the meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kosova, the Sector Strategy and Action Plan of the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare 2018-2022 was approved.

MLSW Minister Skender Reçica emphasized that Sector Strategy aims to improve public service policies in the field of employment and well-being of citizens and aims to guide and coordinate actions for achieving the development objectives envisaged in the National Development Strategy, dealing with reducing the level of unemployment with focus on young people and women, raising the skills of the workforce, and other important areas.

Today, at a ceremony in Brussels, Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Skender Reçica, has signed a Social Security Agreement with his counterpart, Minister of Social Affairs and Public Health, Dr. Maggie De Block. This is the first international social security agreement, which directly benefits Kosovar citizens who have worked and acted in the Kingdom of Belgium. On this occasion, Minister Reçica thanked the Belgian Government, especially Minister De Block for her dedication and the expert group for their excellent work.

Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Mr. Skender Reçica travels today to Belgium, where tomorrow will be signed the Social Security Agreement between the Republic of Kosova and the Kingdom of Belgium. Minister Reçica will sign the deal with Maggie De Block, Minister of Social Affairs and Public Health.

The social housing facility in Stantërg of Mitrovica has been inaugurated, which will serve 17 families with severe social conditions. The facility was financed by the Ministry of Laborand Social Welfare and costed of 294 thousand euros, while the Municipality of Mitrovica has allocated the parcel and will allocate these apartments to 17 families.

Under the direction of the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Mr. Çerkin Dukolli, today is held the next meeting of the National Council for Safety and Health at Work. At this meeting, it was necessary to identify the concrete tasks within this year that the Council will face. Deputy Minister Dukolli said that it is very important for this Council to come up with an effective work plan and apply for 2018.
