The Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare has today launched the two strategic documents which, as part of the European agenda, are aimed primarily at raising the well-being and employment of young people in the state of Kosovo.
The launch of the Sector Strategy 2018-2022 and the launch of the Action Plan for Youth Employment were made today during a conference organized by MLSW.
Minister of MLSW, Mr. Skender Reçica said that these documents being launched today are part of the strategic documents of the Government of Kosovo and part of the European Agenda aimed at the development of the country, employment and vocational training and the establishment of social welfare for the citizens of the country.
"It has been a long-standing need for MLSW to draft and approve the Sector Strategy and the Youth Employment Plan, because under its mandate, it cares for the most sensitive strata of our society and is already being realized," he said. Ministers Reçica.
The Minister further added that unemployment is among the biggest problems in the country, the Sector Strategy and the Youth Employment Action Plan aims to improve this situation, especially for youth employment.
"The focus is on vocational training of young people, career orientation, self-employment and target priority. Employment of a member of families who do not have any employees, "said Mr. Reçica.
The Prime Minister of the country, Mr. Ramush Haradinaj, was also present at the conference, who expressed optimism at the beginning of the concrete implementation of this strategy which, according to him, will be a document that will lead towards joining the youth in the labor market.
"Today, I am pleased that the Ministry and Minister Mr. Reçica are starting to implement the strategy foreseen for hiring young people by identifying the actions and calculating them," said among other things Mr. Haradinaj.
Meanwhile, the representative of the European Union Office in Kosovo, Riccardo Serri offered the support of the EU Office in Kosovo where he said that as a party involved in these strategies, youth employment will also be a priority of the European agenda.
